E-Z Lok Brass Wood Inserts

E-Z Lok solid brass threaded inserts for wood give you strong machine threads in hardwood, softwood, plywood and MDF. They let you bolt and unbolt furniture, fixtures and jigs many times without wearing out the wood. We stock USS coarse, SAE fine and metric sizes. Installation steps and the hole size chart are below.

Drill hole using size chart below.	Thread insert into hole using a screw driver or a bolt. Install 1/16” to 1/8” below surface for optimum pull out strength.	Position the attaching part and install a bolt or screw.

How do I install an E-Z Lok wood insert?
Drill the hole size shown in the chart, thread the insert in with a screwdriver or a bolt and jam nut, and set it 1/16" to 1/8" below the surface for the best pull out strength.

Do brass inserts work in softwood and MDF?
Yes. Use the hole size from the chart. In MDF and particle board, a drop of glue in the hole adds holding power.

Do brass fasteners rust?
No. Brass contains no iron, so it does not rust. It will tarnish and darken over time, especially outdoors. Polish it to keep it bright or let it age to a natural patina.
