A square head set screw sticks out above the part and is tightened with a wrench, so it can be tightened harder and is easy to see and adjust. A socket set screw sits flush or below the surface.
What tap drill do I use for 7/8"-9?
Use a 49/64" drill for a standard 75% thread.
