Low head socket cap screws have a head about half the height of a standard socket head cap screw, for places where head clearance is limited. They are made from high strength alloy steel with a black oxide finish, in #6-32, #8-32, #10-32, #10-24, 1/4"-20, 5/16"-18, 3/8"-16, with lengths from 3/8" to 1-1/2". Because of the shorter head and smaller socket they can't be preloaded as high as a standard socket head cap screw. Choose a size below.

Will black oxide socket screws rust?
Black oxide is a thin conversion finish with a light oil. It gives mild rust protection indoors and a clean dark look, but it is not made for outdoor or wet use. For outdoor, wet or washdown areas, use our stainless steel socket screws.
