F436 Structural Washers

ASTM F436 structural washers are through-hardened steel flat washers for high-strength structural bolting. They are the washer specified with A325 structural bolts and are often paired with 2H heavy hex nuts. The hardened washer keeps the bolt tension from relaxing into the steel. We stock plain steel F436 washers in 1/2" to 1-1/4". Galvanized F436 washers are also available.

Where does an F436 washer go?
Under the part being turned, usually the nut. Your project specifications may call for washers under both the head and the nut.

Plain or galvanized F436?
Use galvanized F436 washers with galvanized bolts and nuts, and plain washers with plain structural bolts.
