Can I lift with a bent eye bolt?
No. Bent (formed) eye bolts are for light duty and straight-line pulls only. For lifting, use a forged shouldered lifting eye bolt rated for the load.
Which length 12-24 eye bolt do I need?
Pick a shank long enough to pass through the material with room for a washer and the nut, plus a couple of threads past the nut. Thread length, overall length and eye size for every part number are on the Data Sheet (PDF).
