FAQ
What is a shaker screen bolt?
A shaker screen bolt is a heavy duty carriage bolt (round head, square neck) made in Grade 5 or Grade 8 steel. It holds screen panels and liners on vibrating screens and shakers in mining, quarry and aggregate plants.
How do carriage bolts work?
The square neck under the round head pulls into the wood as the nut is tightened, so the bolt can't turn. Only the nut side needs a wrench, and the smooth domed head is hard to remove from the outside.
How tight should I torque these bolts?
Torque depends on grade, size, thread and lubrication. Use the Bolt Tightening Torque Chart (PDF) on this page as a starting point.
