FAQ

What does a size like 8-32 mean?
The first number is the screw's gauge (diameter) and the second is threads per inch. 8-32 is a #8 screw (0.164 in. diameter) with 32 threads per inch. Fractional sizes like 1/4-20 give the diameter in inches.

What is the difference between 10-24 and 10-32?
Both are #10 screws. 10-24 is coarse thread (UNC) and 10-32 is fine thread (UNF). The nut or tapped hole must match the thread.

How are screw lengths measured?
Flat head (countersunk) screws are measured overall, from the top of the head to the tip. Pan, truss, round and hex washer head screws are measured from under the head to the tip.
