Square Bevel Washers

Square bevel washers are tapered so the nut or bolt head sits square on the sloped flange of an I-beam or channel. They are beveled at 2 in 12, about 9.5°, which is the standard flange slope for American Standard beams and channels. Without one, the bolt bends as it is tightened. We stock plain steel sizes 5/16" through 1", and 1/2" in galvanized.

Specifications

  • Bevel: 2" in 12" (about 9.5°)
  • Sizes: 5/16", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1"
  • Finish: plain steel; 1/2" also in galvanized

  • Bolting to sloped flanges on S-beams and C-channels
  • Structural steel connections
  • Hanger rods and supports on beam flanges

FAQ

How do I install a bevel washer?
Place the thick side toward the web and the thin side toward the edge of the flange, so the top surface is square to the bolt.

Do I need bevel washers on wide flange (W) beams?
Usually not. W-beams have nearly parallel flanges. Bevel washers are for the sloped flanges on S-beams and C-channels.
