Galvanized Hex Bolts

Galvanized hex bolts have a hot dip galvanized coating that resists rust outdoors and in pressure treated lumber. They are the go-to bolt for decks, docks, fences, pole barns and other outdoor construction. Length is measured from under the head. Short bolts are fully or partially threaded, and bolts over 6" long have 6" of thread. Pair them with galvanized nuts and washers.

FAQ

Can I use a regular zinc plated nut on a galvanized bolt?
No. Hot dip galvanizing adds a thick zinc coating to the threads, so galvanized nuts are tapped slightly oversize to fit. A standard nut will bind or not thread on. Use galvanized nuts with galvanized bolts.

How is a hex bolt measured?
From under the head to the end of the bolt. The head is not included in the length.
