Galvanized Split Lock Washers

Galvanized split lock washers are spring lock washers with a galvanized finish for outdoor use. They keep tension on the nut or bolt head to help resist loosening from vibration and wood movement. We stock sizes 1/4" through 1-1/2" to match our galvanized bolts and nuts.

FAQ

Where does a lock washer go?
Directly under the nut. If you also use a flat washer, the flat washer goes against the part and the lock washer goes on top.

Do I need a lock washer on wood?
Often not. Wood compresses, so a large flat washer and a re-check of tightness after the wood dries usually works better.
