ACME Thread Nuts

ACME Thread Nuts

ACME thread nuts have a 29° trapezoidal thread. It is stronger than a standard V thread and is built to move a load along a threaded rod rather than just clamp it. That makes ACME nuts the right choice for lead screws, jacks, vises, clamps and valve stems. We stock standard hex and heavy hex ACME nuts in plain steel to pair with our ACME threaded rod.

FAQ

Will an ACME nut fit a standard threaded rod?
No. ACME and standard (UNC/UNF) threads have different shapes and pitches, so they are not interchangeable. Match the diameter and threads per inch to your ACME rod, for example 1/2"-10 or 3/4"-6.

Should I choose standard hex or heavy hex?
Heavy hex ACME nuts are larger across the flats and thicker. That gives more thread engagement and a bigger wrench surface, which helps with heavier loads and frequent adjustment.
