FAQ
What is an elevator bolt?
An elevator bolt has a large, thin, flat head with a square neck. The flat head sits flush against belting or wood and the neck keeps the bolt from turning. They were made for fastening buckets to conveyor (elevator) belts.
How do carriage bolts work?
The square neck under the round head pulls into the wood as the nut is tightened, so the bolt can't turn. Only the nut side needs a wrench, and the smooth domed head is hard to remove from the outside.
