Galvanized Ogee Washers

Galvanized ogee washers are thick, cast washers with a curved (ogee) profile and a wide base. They give a bolt a large bearing surface on heavy timber, so the nut doesn't sink into the wood. They are the traditional washer for docks, piers, bulkheads and timber bridges, and their hot dip galvanized finish holds up in marine use. We stock 1/2" through 1".

FAQ

Which way does an ogee washer face?
The wide flat base sits against the wood and the narrow top faces the nut or bolt head.

Why use an ogee washer instead of a flat washer?
Ogee washers are much thicker and wider, so they won't bend or pull into soft or wet timber under high load.
