FAQ
What does 10-24 or 1/4-20 mean?
The first number is the diameter (a screw gauge number such as #10, or a fraction of an inch) and the second is threads per inch. A 10-24 screw is #10 diameter with 24 threads per inch.
What is the difference between 10-24 and 10-32?
Both are #10 diameter. 10-24 is coarse thread and 10-32 is fine thread. They do not interchange, so match the nut to the screw.
Is brass magnetic?
No. Brass is non-magnetic, which is one reason it is used in electrical, marine and instrument work.
