Galvanized Fasteners
Galvanized fasteners have a zinc coating that protects the steel from rust. Hot dip galvanizing gives the thickest coating, so it is the standard choice for decks, docks, fences, pole barns, coastal work and pressure treated lumber, where the chemicals in the wood corrode plain or zinc plated hardware. We stock galvanized hex bolts, carriage bolts, lag screws, timber bolts, nuts, washers, threaded rod, eye bolts, eye nuts, L anchors and concrete anchors, and most orders ship the same day.

FAQ
Can I use a regular zinc plated nut on a galvanized bolt?
No. Hot dip galvanizing adds a thick zinc coating to the threads, so galvanized nuts are tapped slightly oversize to fit. A standard nut will bind or not thread on. Use galvanized nuts with galvanized bolts.
Are galvanized fasteners OK for pressure treated lumber?
Yes. Hot dip galvanized fasteners are the common choice for treated lumber. For saltwater or the most corrosive treatments, consider stainless steel.
