FAQ

Is 18-8 stainless the same as 304?
18-8 is the family name for stainless with about 18% chromium and 8% nickel, and 304 is the most common grade in that family. It resists rust in wet and outdoor use but is not magnetic-proof and is not as resistant as 316 in salt water.

What does the plate do?
The flat plate slides over both legs and sits under the nuts. It spreads the clamping load across the mounting surface and gives the nuts a flat, square bearing face.

What does pipe size mean on a round bend U-bolt?
Pipe size is the nominal pipe size the U-bolt is made to fit. Nominal pipe size is not the actual outside diameter, so a U-bolt listed for 1" pipe has an inside width (C) sized for the 1.315" outside diameter of 1" pipe. For tubing or round bar, choose by inside width instead.
