What does the plate do?
The flat plate slides over both legs and sits under the nuts. It spreads the clamping load across the mounting surface and gives the nuts a flat, square bearing face.

Which plate fits my U-bolt?
The plate's two holes must match the U-bolt's rod diameter and leg spacing (inside width plus one rod diameter, center to center). Call or email us with the U-bolt size and we'll match the plate number.

Are galvanized plates available?
Yes. #21 is stocked in galvanized steel, and other numbers can be supplied in galvanized. Please contact us.

Which finish should I choose?
Zinc plated steel is good for indoor and dry or sheltered outdoor use. Hot-dip galvanized steel has a much thicker zinc coating for outdoor, wet and marine-area use. 18-8 stainless steel resists rust best and is the choice for wet, marine and food areas.
